One day you will actaully understand table tennis, right now you only understand Elite Table tennis played by Fit Young Men and Women - mostly boosting.

You couldn't be more wrong Rob. I don't know much about Elite TT, simply because I'm not good enough to play at that level, thus I'm not good enough to understand everything that is going on. I mean, I know that Ma Lin is better then Henzell, but I can't pinpoint it and explain why and what it is that he does that makes him better. Sure, serve and third ball, but what is it about his serve? What is it he does to allow him to always attack the third ball? What could Henzell possibly do to avoid this? Those sort of things. How ever, I do understand lower level TT, cause this is what I play and I can recognise mistakes and error as I either do them my self or play against people who do. I also flatter my self in to thinking that my knowledge about TT goes beyond my skill, so I do understand higher level TT then I can play.

At the time I was recovering from a knee reco, and I really never had a good forhand, cause I had a strong Backhand, so my stance was backhand orientated. There is nothing wrong with this as I could get by at most clubs in A grade, except when playing with the big boys that would exploit it badly.

So, at your level, there was nothing wrong. Correct. How ever, you claimed to be of a higher level, which is why blocker pointed this out to you, since this wouldn't work at the level you claimed to be playing at.
 
 

Since I wanted a good forhand to get to the next level I had to change things, one of those things was my stance - I will say it again, Supachop & my Coach helped me do this - not blocker. Of course to get to that next level there was a few more things that got changed. Since I'm sick of your Crap & Big ears crap I refuse to post any more video clips.
My improvement is shown in my steady but surely advance up the rankings mostly every months.  Bigears pointed out that I had dropped from 10 (He said I had never beaten a top 10 Player) to 16, yet again I have gone up to 13, and there's more to come.... Keep bagging, it only strives me to get better.

Of course blocker didn't help you, all he did was to point it out to you. Sure, Supa and your coach might have had pointed it out to you earlier, but that don't change the fact that blocker spotted this weakness straight away, thus proving him as a player with good insight in the game. So, why call him a joker, since he pointed out the same stuff as Supa and your coach? Or, do you consider them as jokers as well?
 
I think you would improve much faster if you knew what level you where advancing from. Unfortunately, you already think you are a high level player. Perhaps you are a high level player by Aussie standard, but if you came here and claimed to be an advanced player, you would be laughed at. You just don't see the bigger picture and you refuse to understand that what might be considered as a good player in one country might be a noob in another. It's as if I would use my ranking (~2900) and use it to mock a Chinese player who was rated ~5000 in China, when in reality, he would most likely be way, way better then me. Oh, wait, not only would I use my Swedish ranking, but my regional ranking and compare it to his national ranking and then claim I would be able to give him a match.
 
Any way, this still don't explain the blocker PM. Care to explain that instead of going on about your level? Cause, I know your level, I've seen it, but I don't know how or why some one else would PM from blockers account, mentioning your improvements. Then deleting the evidence.

The more I type, the more it seems I know? About what? The thing is, why do you talk to the elite players about your level? Because you think this is where you belong? As I said previously, you might be Elite in Australia, but you have to understand, that compared to the players we have here, you are far from elite, and would be happy to be considered as average.

As for speaking to former top 100 players, to get the difference between them and the top 10, I've spoken to former top 10 players, to get the difference explained to me.

As far as Rob getting his IT people to look into this, if you consider for one second that perhaps he didn't do what you and Speedplay seem so intent that he did. Why wouldn't he take it seriously? He runs a forum here and that would mean there has been a breach to the forum's security. Any responsible Admin (of any website) would be silly not to take such a breach seriously and try to find who was responsible. I know you see it as a mask because you think it is Rob who is guilty, but the actions he is following are also the actions of an innocent person too.

Unlike you I have met Rob in person and I believe his character is not one to go to these lengths to cover up his own wrongdoing. He is a pretty straight forward sort of bloke and I do believe if he had played a joke that backfired he would have admitted it. I would have thought that would have come across in his persona on the forum by now anyway as while he demonstrates pride in all he does, he admits his faults (and then tries to better them).

Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine. One of us is wrong. Maybe we will eventually find out who is wrong.

He then changed his game, to correct what wasn't wrong, but to reach a higher level. Reb, a simply question, when you look at what's happened here, who do you think we should suspect? The PM that started it all supported Rob's view. He then claimed with an arrogant attitude that PM's didn't have any IP. When he realised that they could still be traced and that a persons last used IP was shown, he changed blockers last used IP. Changed the IP I showed in my post as well.

So, if it isn't Rob, then who? What would this person achieve with this?

Speedplay I understand how it must look to you, but something many of us here in Aus do is give our mates the benefit of any doubt. I've also seen situations where the apparent person is not actually the guilty one. The fact that Rob would be the most obvious looking person to do something like this, given his admin status/powers, is the exact reason I would see not to do it. But it is the perfect way for someone finding a way into the system to make it look like Rob has done something wrong. I don't see any point in telling Rob to "man-up" and admit it, because either he would have by now if he did do something wrong, or he never will if he didn't (why should he), or if he is a different person to what I think he is and did something to which he won't own up, keeping on saying it won't be effective. So all of this leads to plenty of doubt, which I think lets Rob be presumed innocent. I believe Rob has the integrity to a. not do what you think he has to begin with and b. to not lie about such a thing.

for a start, I don't understand what Blocker has 'lost' so sorely, and if you reaslly wanted to improve, you wouldn't be listening to your peers as to your 'improvement' because they are likely to give you the answer that you want, rather than the truth.

Since Blocker never revealed his true identity, how would you speedplay know that he's better than me. Most forum members thought they could beat me by looking at my clips, it was only after they played me that they relized how hard I was to play.

Fine, show me to the post where either of these members have claimed that they would beat you, cause in your own post, you mentioned that several forum members thought they could beat you. With your good memory, it shouldn't be a problem finding the post where either of them have said they would beat you.

You vs Reb, doesn't matter if you are 10 levels better then him or half a level better then him, the thing is, he never said he would beat you. You claim to have beaten forum members who have said they would beat you, after watching your videos. JT and Blue Smartie? When have they said they would beat you?

You alwway mention your wins against higher ranked players, but the problem is, if you constantly beat them, you would be ranked up there with them. You aren't, cause you must lose to lower ranked players, yet you fail to mention this.

I think Rob played more carefully though....couldn't have me taking an upset LOL. But it would have certainly been an upset. Both Rob and Supachop would play our A1 I think, although A1 at Dandy has gotten even stronger this season with quite a few A1's gone down to A2.

But Speedplay is correct here, I never expected to beat you Rob. Not that in my wildest dreams (or his  ) did I expect to take a set from Supachop either 

As for the blocker IP thing, I say we give it a rest until Rob raises it again. Rob is correct that he could close the thread if he wished. Let's give him the time to show what actually happened, or just forget it if its too complex. We all know our thoughts on the issue, so there's no point to keep re-iterating them.

Fine, show me to the post where either of these members have claimed that they would beat you, cause in your own post, you mentioned that several forum members thought they could beat you. With your good memory, it shouldn't be a problem finding the post where either of them have said they would beat you.

You vs Reb, doesn't matter if you are 10 levels better then him or half a level better then him, the thing is, he never said he would beat you. You claim to have beaten forum members who have said they would beat you, after watching your videos. JT and Blue Smartie? When have they said they would beat you?

You alwway mention your wins against higher ranked players, but the problem is, if you constantly beat them, you would be ranked up there with them. You aren't, cause you must lose to lower ranked players, yet you fail to mention this.

You do forget real quickly, Blue smartie made the post that when he looked at the clips, he though he had a good chance, yet when he played me, he found it much harder. As for JT, we are always discussing levels, and he made the comment that he though he had a chance, but relized theres a long way to go.

As for losses, sure I have a few - dont we all, but my losses these days are less than my wins, thats why I have gone from a ranking of 200 to 13, and all this whilst I've been getting closer to 50.

He really has a bee in his bonnet about this blocker thing, maybe it was Speedplay all along, and he's pissed that he cant loginto his alias account any more.
When I play Combo players, exspecially ones that have used them for a while, I tend to play very safe and conservative, I think around that time it wasnt 12 months past my surgery so I had to take it easy, other wise big problems could have occured.  And yes you did take a game of Supachop.

To be honest I thought I would give Rob a really close match and possibly win when I saw his old videos before I started playing tournaments, I didn't think he had enough power to hit balls past me and I was sure I had enough to hit balls past him. In the end I was right, it was very close although I did have mental failure during the last game and he staged a huge comeback to win 11-9 in the 5th. But in any case, Rob routinely beats guys that I can't get close to, I've watched him do this heaps of times and it's obvious he's a much better than I am in both the guys he can beat and the rating he has. I doubt it will be close next time now that he knows the flaws in my game, still I had fun while it lasted :). Because I can hit harder than most people I tend to think if I can just hit 11 good loops then I can beat anyone, the problem is, the very top players don't let me hit hardly any :(, or maybe it's just my own mind telling me I can't hit any..... because in the end when I say they don't let me... I haven't actually attempted to hit not even a single one, that's something I'm still coming to terms with.  It's quite a large hurdle to overcome for me to step up to these guys level as I've never played at this kind of standard before, I know it's possible I'm just not sure where the steps are right now.

I'm not a totally crap player myself but it really is a quite high standard at the Vets tournaments, there are guys there that I'm sure would beat Big ears and JKC I think they know that too, the only dispute they have is would Rob beat them. I don't know that, but I do know since I'm not all that crap and Rob beats people worlds better than me, then he's pretty good :)

Reb, he played country week, most of the people that play it under the top couple of grades is most likely to go backwards 50 points or so.

It's because you get hundreds of players from bush clubs that don't play any other tournaments in a year so they are always 100, 200, 400, even 600 points better than their ratings says they are. I played out of my skin, we won our grade fairly easily in the end yet I still went backwards. The higher grade you can play there, the less damage gets done but you need 2 other strong team mates otherwise you will be playing down under your normal level and that makes it highly likely you will get beaten by someone on almost no points and have no one higher than you to get those points back. Still well worth it :), I don't know if you are far enough out of the city to qualify but if you are you should go next time. There were near enough to 400 competitors in 19? grades.

I've been following all the dramas on here as if it was my favourite soap opera.. but haven't been posting as I have no desire to get involved in any mud slinging!! Seems to me Speedy and Biggy would play off in the final of that event!!! 

Yep Reb.. I dropped about 70 points last month due to country week and the Albury tournament. JT is spot on... way too many bush players who are waaaaay better than their ranking. Still, my interest is in enjoying the sport and playing as much as possible, rather than just improving my ranking. I do know people who purposely didn't play country week as they knew it would muck up their points! To me that's just crazy stuff... I prefer to just have fun 

When I first saw Rob play... yes, my impressions were that I could beat him. Even from the clips on here... my general feeling is that he had nothing to harm me, and as JT mentioned.. I thought I'd be able to hit through him. I haven't actually played Rob for over 12 months now... but still, I watch his games at the vets tournys and wonder how he beats the people he does! Nothing wrong with his game.. in fact it's becoming more and more right! Just not flashy and sensational like some players like to be. More workman-like... and very efficient! I know he simply shuts me down and doesn't let my game come to the table... it was all on his terms, which in my view is a class player.

Now.. I'll readily admit that I don't really know what to look for in assessing a player's quality. Certainly not to the degree of Biggy anyway. A player's abilities in my view... are simply how well he/she does at the table! And without a doubt, Rob's abilities are streets ahead of mine... and getting further out of reach I feel. But he is putting in the hard yards and fully deserves to move up the rankings 

I've never really mentioned my level much... and this probably won't mean much to anyone outside Victoria, but just so you can put things in perspective....
I won the leading player in my Club (Shepparton) last year... although in reality, am about the 3rd top player there. Last week I filled in at Horsham where I beat the undefeated club champion in 4 games ( ). At the Vic vets I managed to beat JT in 4... and he is the undefeated champ of his home club. I think I would be in the top half of any country vic club's A grade comp. Not in Melbourne of course... much more depth there.
Anyway... compare this to a game against Rob, and I would be extremely happy to take a single game off him these days!
