I reckon I could beat him. All I gotta do is push to his forehand side, he's got no answer for that one. hhh
What a broken record. I hope it wasn't one of those ABBA records.

Well hopefully the first 1 or 2 matches might take place this weekend. I highly doubt coming away with a winning record, unless maybe a 3-1 if Rob went easy. But then I'm not travelling 2 hours for him to go easy LOL.

Hard one to call. As I've said before, I think Rob is slightly better then me, but still with in the same level. How ever, transformating this in to a result over 100 matches is hard. He might have the edge and win them all by 3-2, or even 3-1, cause I firmly belief that the better player prevails in almost every match, even if we all dip in form time to time. So, instead of guessing how many matches I would win, I'd rather give the % I think I would have against him in any match, any given day, and that is, 20-30%.

I couldn't find 101. He would pick up the odd game here and there, but as it is best of 5, I don't see him winning a match over the whole year.

Ok, well I went 31-40 coz even though at the moment the best I've done is taken Rob to 5 once out of 3 or 4 matches... I'm slow to work out players, and I reckon out of 100 matches I'd come home strongly after developing some strategies on how to play him

I said 21-30 to be safe. I think Rob is around USATT 2150 or so and that seems to be the winning percentage I have against that crowd who are two wing loopers. I would have fun with him on serve and attack, would try to attack his serves, but Rob looks like he can get back more balls than it appears, so it is not such an easy task for me at my current level to defeat him regularly. maybe as the year go by, I get better and also better vs him, but the same goes for him, especially after he gets used to my serves. I'll stay with 21-30 staying on the losing end of the bargain until I see something different from him or more improvement from me, whih seems to be happening every month or since I started lessons 7-8 months back.

Gees Rob, I'm the only who paid you the respect of going 0-10. I figured given its only 2 matches per week and best of 5 that your level of A1 at Msac would see you win at least 90% over my A5 at Dandy. I've been told Msac A1 is like Dandy A2 or A3 even, I don't know the truth to this. But I do know that I could rarely beat anyone from A2 or A3 at Dandy (although my mate that I play weekly is A3 and I beat him regularly as I've got to know his game - but that's in friendlies, which of course it would be between us as well .).

Reb, thank for the compliment. You will see soon how well I play against 2 winged loopers. Infact that's what I've been training for the last 2 years. I'm sure well have some fun on Saturday. Just think Richard was once leading player at Sunbury. I wish Blocker could come, maybe he could give me some tips first hand.
I suppose if mosses won't come to the mountain then the mountain will have to go to mosses.

That's what my Mum taught me, that's also the reason why I never give up. When you think you've won the point, the balls back on the table waiting there for you to make another mistake, then you start trying harder, and the mistakes keep piling. I mean if your so consistent JKC, why aren't you in the top 20 Vets.

That's just a cop out, being 37 when you qualify at 40 is just inconsiderate, stop making excuses.

I once was ranked number 1 in the Junior boys, I had more points than everyone else under 18, then I realised I was 32.

Something tells me that "Moses" have no reason to fear any of us, with the possible exception of Biggy, not sure about that. Look at the quality of Blockers post and you will realise that he is either a high level player, or, a high level coach. He doesn't repeat the same old stuff that goes around on these forums, but he brings up new stuff him self and this far, I haven't been able to find anything wrong in his posts. You don't aquire this much knowledge about the game unless you are at least a decent player your self.

Blocker hasn't told us a whole lot about himself besides his nickname infers he does nothing but block, not the sign of a great player. Ok, maybe he really can do more than that, but he also said he doesn't have a FH (which would be in line with a low class blocker). A TT enthusiast who never really played the game well could certainly gather the observations blocker has if they are happy to sit and watch the game more than play it. Those of us who play it more tend to have less time to gather the observations and piece it all together. Blocker doesn't play a competition which tells me he is happy to just have a quiet knock now and then which is in line with someone who is of lesser skill themselves than what they can "see" in others. Blocker would probably make a very good coach, but I suspect, unless he has been very dishonest (which I don't think he is) he sees better than he plays. Now feel free to correct me here blocker as I know nothing more of you than what you have posted. I agree you have some good insights, but I trust your self-assessment and that its based on truth rather than self-modesty or hiding of your true character.

Rob, he have said more then the obvious, look at his analyze of the videos posted here, those are not made by a hack but by some one with a very good understanding of the game.

Reb, true, Blocker have told us he's not very skilled, but, perhaps he sets the bar as high as me before he claims to be skilled? Perhaps he have once played at a very high level and consider that his skill now isn't very high? Saying that a blocker is a sign of a weak player is kind of funny, since Waldner (a Swedish noob) have often been called a blocker

I would actually bet money on Blocker being better then both Reb and Rob, solely based on the quality of his posts, cause I don't believe you can pick up the things he have mentioned here, with out playing at a high level. Watching it from the sideline can only give you so much, if you aren't playing your self, it is hard to catch the small things that makes all the difference. I'm not saying I'm good at it, but I watched a game with a high level  and boy did we see things differently. Needless to say, his analyze turned out to be much better then mine

To be honest I knew what racquet speed/arm speed was but I didn't understand what you meant by it in the given context (ie you said Belot had better racquet speed than the guys in BE's clip) and that is why I thought you may be referring to reflexes or something else. Don't get me wrong, Belot is a good solid player but his weakness is that he LACKS racquet speed. His loops are consistent but they are sluggish and lack zing. I think if you ask someone Gerada or maybe even Belot himself they would confirm this.

As for my level I can confirm that I am slow, overweight, ageing, and have a chronic injury. As a result I am forced to mainly block. Concepts such as 'Noobs'/'good players' etc are all relative and even though I was a slightly better player in my younger days I think 'hack' best describes how I play now. The next time I have a bash in my friends garage I will take some film and ewes can decide for yourselves.

As for my knowledge of TT I think it is obviously dubious cos I'm in the foolish 'BE would whoop Rob' camp.
