if someone goes off the table i pretty much will deliberately keep them only using only their backhand through hook spin and wander way over the the far backhand side and close to the table until they hit one short.  given im already way over waiting,   i smash a forehand into the barriers on their backhand side basically.   there is only one guy who loves to defend and will easily go back, and thats my always my plan when people go off and dont smash a BH when they are back there.....his plan is to keep it looping into my backhand to make that hard and to keep me off the table.  if he did smash a BH from back there with a slow standard rubber i couldnt care less, but if he did it with tenergy, im in all sorts of trouble. thats just my view and i will stick to it as i simply do not have any trouble blocking wherever i want someone loops who does not use a fast and spinny rubber

dont have a good forehand and probably never will and god knows i have tried.....i should use a medium pimple as that would really suit my game, everyone knows it also,  but im winning with smooth on both side and resisting the urge to simply give up trying to develop the footwork required for a good FH...if i ever go to s medium pimple where i can stay at the table, not move my feet and bitch slap anything, ill win heaps but give the game away within 6 m.....so we soldier on

way easier than golf!

Bill, I find it funny how some people can have a great BH and not much FH, when I have always had the reverse issue. Must have something to do with dominant brain sides or something LOL. Oh and golf is way easier LOL!! (We seem to be reverse in lots of things LOL)

id much rather have a good forehand instead of a backhand. was the same with tennis...even left handed im quite reasonable with my backhand but suck totally with forehand.

your right...golf is way easier as i dont have to move my feet..played off between 2-5 at noosa for 10 years until i took up surfing and havent really played the game since apart from the odd ambrose....hmm maybe i should play bowls or darts...not much footwork required there !

i note LTK say they have rubbers even faster and spinnier than red diamond...might have to try them when i use up all the red diamond i now have..although the faster the rubber the better your technique needs to be and the older i get I(im 46)  the more there seems to be a time delay happening

LOL, you lived in Noosa for 10 years and THEN took up surfing? Don't play much golf these days either. Made the "magical" single figure, then life got in the way. In tennis I had fairly even FH and BH due to coaching in early teens. I think my BH had more power on ground strokes though, Fh was stronger overhead. I'm about same age and yes everything takes longer than it did 20 years ago lol.

i played table tennis after i got sick of not moving my feet in tennis....you dont need good footwork  for a backhand i have found

still, thinki have to learn that little bounce thing they all do between the points..probably a good start t be on my toes not flat footed hey
