The first Vets tourny for the year! 

I've entered Div 1, 2 & 3 singles and the men's open singles...

Anyone else heading to Geelong? Entries now close on the 15th I beleive..

I think it was well runned and the best prize money too!

Bendigo Vets was also runned well. With the addition of 6 tables, making a total of 18, the tournament was finished by 6:30pm! Kudos to the Tounament Committee and officers of this club.

I agree that both tournaments were quite well organised and I had a good time at each...although "someone" knocked me out of division 3 (Bendigo) in the semi finals!! 
How did you go in the final??

Lost to Daryl.... an A1 player in Geelong. This is his 2nd tournament in the Veterans circuit and is still to gain points... however since he won the Division 3 Singles twice, he won't be able to play in it anymore (at least not this year).... we will have our chance!

Are you going to the Vic Closed Veterans?

I saw a couple of Daryl's games.... he's way to good for div 3!
So it actually worked out well that I lost when I did because my points ranking pulled up just 2 points short of the cut off for div 3 

Yep, will be playing in the Vic closed vets... got a busy month coming up with a Shepp/Yarrawonga match on the following Sunday, then the Country Championships over the Q/B long w/e.... and then Croydon vets the weekend after that!!
Bring it on!!

You picked up a lot of ranking points from March to April (76 points)!
I gained 20 points.

What grade will you be playing at the Country Week? We won D3 last year so I have been promoted to D1.

Crazy isn't it? We travel such long distance to go  to all these events and what do we get in return.... prize money, which sometimes does not even cover our entry fees or petrol for that matter, a few ranking points, the joy of competing and winning..... priceless!

Yeah Arlene, I had a good month with a couple of big wins! The best was against a 1500 rated player which I was very happy with! 

Not sure on Country Week gradings yet... but I have been promoted to our Shepp no. 1 team.

As for being crazy... yes, guilty as charged! lol 
It's certainly not about the prize money... and the ranking points just keep things interesting. It's definitely the joy of competing and (sometimes) winning.... and also you forgot to mention meeting great people and a fun comradery amongst fellow TT tragics (read crazies!  ), being a wide cross-section of people from all walks of life.
Yes, priceless!
