Mounties vs Diggers
« on: January 31, 2010, 02:38:10 PM »
I hope the forum admins, don't mind if i do this, but since there isn't an "Advertise your club thread"...

For any Sydney-siders on the forum, the Harbord Diggers Table tennis club is trying to arrange a match against the Mounties table tennis club, but it seems you guys - the Mounties - are short on numbers.... or just really scared.

We've arranged to play the match on Saturday the 20th of Feb. Entry is free for Mounties TTclub members, and we'll be providing food and drinks for afterwards.

The format is the same as your district. Teams of 4 in each of the 4 grades, with 3 singles played by 3 players and 2 doubles. With each grade being best of 11 rubbers. The club that wins overall gets a fat trophy to take home for the year and bragging rights.

If you're keen to play, please let Lester, or anyone on your commitee know that your interested.

(Below is an arial view of our club and a pic of the playing area (taken at night), the actual match will be during the day, which means we'llhave a spectacular view of the beach while we play)

We've got 6 tables, the ex-NSW junior champion Matthew Walker, and Li Chen Xing, the current Aus #5, and a good mixture of players in each of the other grades. So if you're a Mounties player, sign up for a free trip to the club, a great match and some free food and drinks for afterwards!

For anyone who just wants to come down to the club for a hit anytime, we play:

Tuesdays 8:30pm - 10pm (short practice night)

Thursday 7:45pm - 11pm (social night - sometimes a handicap comp)

Friday 7:30pm - 11pm (district comp night, but there are often spare tables)

It's only $11 to join for the year, so please come down and introduce yourselves.

Thanks

Angus Gibson

Club President

Hiya Digger,
Im sure your post will not upset any apple-carts!
Good on you for promoting your match and indeed your club  ... if I was up that way, I would certainly be interested but I rarely venture north of the Murray.
Best wishes and welcome to our forum
Chris

Hi Digger (AKA Angus) Welcome.

I've been digging all weekend, can I be classed as a digger and play. I could bring along a friend as well.
