Swedish Pingisliga!
« on: January 26, 2010, 05:29:57 PM »
A clip from our top league here! A pretty good rally that starts at 6:30

Highlights: Eslövs AI-Falkenbergs BTK

Zhao Peng was trained to mimic a European player and used to practice with the Chinese national team, now the question is, can you figure out which player he is mimicking?

Also, look at the weird grip used by Månsson, probably the weirdest grip I've seen at such high level!

And yes, I do love the Wavestone blade(s) =) (And almost 10 sheets of Nittaku Best Anti!)

well he's a left hander, so could it possibly be Mr Saive. Altough if it was him, I'd have to say a pretty poor effort, as Saive had his legs spread apart more.

Rob, it is the guy in the red shirt that is Peng, that is the guy who is mimicking a European player.

If you look at the names in the video, you will see either a red or a yellow square along with their names, this indicates their shirt color.

Well spotted Supachop!

Both of them have mean bh's, even if Peng don't have as big movement as Kreanga, his game reminds a lot of Kreangas. To be honest, I think that Peng would probably beat Kreanga if they faced each other.

Got to love it

But, he was right with his guess, so at least it shows he have watched the video and made a short analyse of the game. Or, he have read the tread at OOAK were it already was revealed

Nice video speedplay. I like that Mansson guy, do you have any idea what equipment he is using?

Supachop, then I'm impressed with your skill to spot that. I was told that he was their version of Kreanga and once I was told, it became obvious, but I'm not sure I would have been able to figure it out.

Sunflex, I have no idea what he is using, but my guess is that he is using Stiga all the way, probably uses one of the Boost version and a classic Stiga blade. As I said, I really "hate" the way he hold his blade, but I love the way he deals with Axelqvist when he tries to back up and lob the ball back. Perhaps something for the Chinese players to study before the face Maze again?

I looked it up it's Yasaka Dynamix blade with Pryde on both sides. Why do you hate his grip?
Everyone has his own grip, a friend of mine also holds the blade like that, the backhand is very powerful with that grip. Yeah he just smashes midhigh balls, almost every pro would loop these balls nowadays.

I have a very, very weird grip my self, but seeing such a skilled player with such a weird grip... I can't help it, it looks so weird so it annoys me. Looks like he is going to drop his bat any second as he only holds far, far down on the handle.

talking about similarities, I think guo kai's forehand is more similar to maze's forehand than zhang's backhand is to kreanga backhand;)
