Following a few quiet weeks from me (I have been watching quietly and occasionally commenting). I am making my return the forums (with a bang - you decide).Fred's latest vid - discuss.

Hi JKC
Great footwork!! I'm impressed!
I haven't been following Fred's progress as I'm pretty new on here....but it looks as though he's coming along very nicely!
...and not even seven! 
and I'm curious.... does he nag at you to have a hit all the time with unbridled enthusiasm, or does training become a bit tiresome at times and he needs some encouragement?
I would imagine he would do well in all sports as he goes through his schooling life as TT early tends to create very good hand-eye co-ordination.

Sometimes he nags, sometimes I take him out to burn off a little energy when him and his sister get a little lively and giddy. He doesn't complain though.

Gees he's coming on well JKC. What's it about 18 months - 2years since we saw his first vid? He couldn't see over the table then LOL. Now he can, he's getting amazingly consistent, not that he wasn't amazing back then! I was gonna switch off about half way through and ask if you're teaching him serves and serve returns yet, but then I kept watching and saw you have. His serves probably need some more focus, but he's good on the returns hey! I am still pretty sure we are watching England's answer to Timo Boll developing here! Have you got him anyone else to coach him yet? Does Biggy get a hit with him?

He has 3-4 different serves, but I have to keep reminding him to use them when we practice. The problem with playing me is that the more spin he puts on the more he gets back so he just tends to put it in to play really. He does vary it more against the other kids though and he wins points from his serves too.
 
He attends the regional development squad for a couple of hours every friday which is run by one of the England Junior coaches. She says Fred is the best 6 year old she has ever seen. I go along and join in the sessions feeding for the other kids and pick up a few ideas for exercises and what to work on during the week.
 
Biggy hasn't met Fred yet, but we are going to try and meet up the next time he comes over this way visiting relatives.

I doubt there would be many coaches who have seen better 6 year olds LOL. Be proud!!
