I haven't tried it as yet mate. But when I was using Plasma 430, I always said I would like a Plasma 410. This one has a 40 degree Sponge, instead of the 47.5 on the regular version.

But since I'm liking the standard version so much, not sure if I'll change. I will try it on Monday Night.

Silly me, turned up to a pennant match, and guess what I did.

Yep you guessed it. Put a sheet of Omega II euro version on my blade and played a match. What a disaster.

Its far to soft for my forehand, Nice though, just not for me. Heaps more control the the standard version, i just wasn't used to it.
The top sheet is exactly the same, so its easy to generate spin, but its lacking speed compared to its big brother.

If you like soft sponges, then this ones for you. Its a touch softer than the Plasma 430, but harder than the Plasma 380.

Does it match better with the Strad?  Is the Yanus DF harder or softer than the Euro Omega I, or II?

Nobel Prizes aren't for real science, they are only for unprovable theoretical science.  Just be happy with making a product that everyone loves and you make billions on.  That should be enough right?  If you want to become a philanthropist after that by all means go for it!

Wilson is Correct. The Xiom Omega 2 Euro version is very nice on the stradavarious. What I stated was it was to slow on my forehand, and I stick with comments.

But everyone is differant, I like blasting balls past my oppenants (not Supachop), and the euro version is much slower than both Omega 1 & 2. If you play a much more controlled game, where placement and spin is important, then the Euro version would suit just fine.

My 2 cents,

euro version is considerably softer than the standard, and thats why I liked it, given I have not liked any of the tensor rubbers so far (plasma & omega).

To explain in more details, this soft version allows more dwell time even on fast blades, so it allows me to do slow loops on my FH. (Yes, Rob & Wiz, I know I dont swing that fast on my FH). At the same time, if u swing hard and the hit goes through the sponge then the fast blade would kick in along with the tensor effect, as which the speed is still more than decent.

Further, its a rather grippy rubber for German tensor, so the soft sponge grabs the ball on loop and the grip from the topsheet generates topspin and arc then the tensor and blade provides the kick.

The downsides would be: 1. short game tends to send the ball a bit long, since the tensor effect tend to send the ball just that much longer and higher
                                      2. serve isnt as spinny and harder to keep the ball short (compare to say H2/3)
                                      3. $$$$ if it doesnt last long

In Conclusion - I think I have found the rubber for my FH - a soft tensor rubber thats not mushy and grippy, but would require a bit of adjustments.

PS> I had a hit with Wiz' Strad+Omega 2 Euro as well = nice combo & nice speed - would be too fast if its usual omega 2 or 430 in 2.2, unless u have decent swing speed to handle it.

So what are you saying, ckhugo  ;)
1. My equipment is to fast
2. I'm good enough to handle the fast equipment
3. both of the above
4. none of the above

i havent tried any XIOM rubbers.. BUT.. i think i'm seeing a pattern here..

when the sponge is really soft on a tensor rubber, the bounciness is similar to other non tensor rubbers. (ie markV gps lightly speedglued or sriver fx lightly speedglued etc...)

this means, those of us who got used to the tensor bounciness for the FH will not like it... those of you who havent got used to the bounciness, will like it much more and hate the plasma 430 etc..

could it be it?

priior,

I think u got a point there, and then of coz it has a lot to do with the blade u use.

I think these German tensor rubbers have a different kind of bounce to glue up non-tensor rubbers or the Chinese tensor rubbers. It has a more springy rebound.

So, on a hard, high rebound blade, these rubbers can be a real disaster but on a looping softer blades ppl would normally benefit form it and get use to it quicker.

Lastly, JO-SIlver is way too SOFT & slow

Ok, I broke down and got an Omega II Euro Version coming soon!  We'll see how I like it!  I'm excited about the possibilities.  Do those come with a sticky sheet to store the rubber like alot of tensors?

Sorry Skippy, We had a power blackout last night and I couldn't get on any of the Forums. its put me a day behind with orders as well.

All Xiom rubbers come with the sticky protection Sheet. Its important to use it, it will make your rubber last longer. Soon you will see the power of the XIOM rubber.

Spoiled Skippy, thats what you are! I have to wait for approximately 14 days to get any deliveries from down under :(

Since Silver is the only one who's answered in my tread about which rubbers I should get, I'm making a minor hijack here and ask; Which of the Xiom rubbers comes with the softest sponge?
Dawei Wavestone Red Tenergy 05/Black Best Anti
Dawei Wavestone Red Roxon 450/Black Best Anti
Dawei Wavestone  Red Roxon 450/Black Best  Anti

And yes, I do love the Wavestone blade(s) =) (And almost 10 sheets of Nittaku Best Anti!)

Omega 2 Euro Version, But I have to say that I dont have many left, and as its not a standard rubber that Xiom Carries. I have to order
50 x red 2.0
50 x blk 2.0
50 x red max
50 x blk max

and then wait 45days for them to be manufactured.
