Bad sportsmanship?
« on: November 26, 2009, 01:42:25 AM »
Axelqvist - Nordberg

At roughyl 4:30 in to the game Johan Axelqvist gets a tiny bit unsportsmanlike when he yells;

Fu**ing idiot, I hate him, I can't play against him?

Hampus then asks the umpire;

Is it allowed to say that to your opponent???

Before the umpire answers him, Axelqvist replies;

Yes you can, as I hate you so much!

Mow, I've always thought that TT-players have a very high level of sportsmanship but some times lacks emotions. Here, I was proved wrong on both accounts.

Maybe they have 'history' speedy. It unacceptable in my book, but I've seen it so many times.

Umpire has no nuts. Drive on Axle. I'll sign you a contract... If you agree to play for cookies and walk/take the bus to your matches.

What amazes me is the fact that they shook hands after the match, Fancy saying something like that, then shaking hands. :angry:

That guy isn't fake at all. Even the handshake, he probably believes rain or shine you shake hands. I was hoping he would say something like expressing a desire to cut off his (opponent's) privates and use them for fish bait.

This surprised me as well, not sure why they did it, cause with such attitude during the match, a hand shake after wards seems lame to me.

Wiggy, you are right, these guys have some history together. Not sure what the history is, but I think that one of the players refused to admit to a double hit, al though it was obvious to everyone but the umpire. Since then, they really don't like each other.

No, its not my style, I never have, and never will do.. I'm a right loudmouth forum guy, but not on the table Rob. There are something like 4/5 clips of me on the internet, you will not hear anything from be on any of them.

Then we are not acting the same at the table Biggy :shocked:

I'm probably pretty grumpy at the table, commenting my own game a lot, but when it comes to commenting on my opponent, all I ever say is; "good shot" or something like that, I never make any negative remarks about my opponent during the game, regardless of what happens.

I tend to "coach" myself a bit...moreso when I miss shots I should make!  :embarrassed:  But not much and not that loud....

I guy I used to play with would walk around in circles having in depth converstions with himself...was quite funny to watch and he saw the funny side as well, just couldn't help himself in a tense game.

Commenting in a negative light about your opponent is just simply very bad form. As for the guy in the clip, that sort of behaviour should be penalised somehow in my book....not a good role model for kids! :sad:

Cheers,
Chris
