I get many question regarding the water based glues, especially ones where people have said it dont work and their rubbers have fallen off.
Here's another clips showing the correct way of applying the glue.

Looks perfect!

How long can the dried glue be on the rubber before it doesn't stick to the glue on the blade?
I am addicted to edge tape.

Not exactly sure about this one, but at least a few hours should still be OK.

So, I don't understand HOW it sticks after it dries.

Its a contact glue. Its stays a little sticky when dry. When the 2 pieces come together they stick. No need for presses.

That's EXACTLY the way I discovered to use them. But some mofo db insisted that the manufacturer of Donic's water glue says you must glue them when they're still a bit wet, and ONLY on the rubber.

I'm glad you made this video, but if I show him this, he'll probably start saying that you don't know how to use these glues even though you and I both glue more than he eats.

I believe mofo is an offensive term.

What's a mofo db

an unfriendly expression, mofo db = "m***er f***ing (feminine hygiene product one might use on a summer's eve)". Another words, a narcissistic egotistical jerk who tries to shove their narrow-minded opinion down your throat to the extent where you can no longer act with civility.

Congratulations, you made an offensive term into a plausible explanation.

With the water-based silicon glue I use, I have no problem gluing wet and playing straight away. Rubber never moves and is easy enough to pull rubber off whenever you need. Not to say dry gluing method is wrong at all. Just another option.

Been using it for 18 months or so now Rob. Its cheap, ya get heaps in a tube. You might even sell it at the paint store. Its called Fullers Ultraclear. Goes on white, dries clear. Apply it really thin so it doesn't stick too hard. I've done heaps and heaps of rubbers with it. There was only ever one rubber I wrecked cos I used it too thick in the early days of using it, and it was the flimsy sponge of Bty Flexstra. Bunnings sells it in the construction adhesives area. The only issue I find with it is sometimes when I remove a rubber it comes off half on blade half on rubber which means scraping it off the blade cos its an uneven surface. If it all stays on the blade then its not an issue cos its still sticky and just needs a dab over the rubber to apply new rubber. Check it out. Costs under $7 for 300g tube.
