Der, that would be sooo annoying! What a waste of a day... that's like turning up for normal evening pennant at 9 in the morning.
The worst thing about long wait-time between matches for me is the "getting cold" bit and muscles start seizing up after a particularly tough match, then take so long to free up for the next match! A two minute warm up barely helps at all  I guess that problem is also related to being a 45 yo fossil with a dodgy hip

Reb, how close is close?! I run into barriers on most courts! lol. Sometimes I still think I'm playing tennis

BS, it wasn't ALL that bad. We had  a couple dozen members from the club and spent most of the day cheering our team and finding ways to irritate the other team with our enthusiastic cheering. We also had several gargantuan picnics, right in the arena. In fact, there were a couple hundred of those picnics in the playing hall in the decks. At least I didn't have to worry about starving while I waited. There was easily 2000 players and a couple hundred clubs represented. It was better than a rock concert and I was like Elvis being the only foreigner within miles who spoke Korean. I got to cheer the father of Jung Young Sik. JYS is world No 2 U18 player. Having that dude on my side for future matches is/will be priceless. He goes to every tourney I am at.

Just a bit of an update on my first season in A grade seniors so far. After a poor start to the Monday night season while I found my feet and scored 2 weeks of no singles wins I've not had a night of less than 2/3 singles wins since and even threw in a 3/3 one night. Teamwise we currently sit 4th from 6 on the ladder. We had risen to 3rd for several weeks after having been bottom, but then we stopped winning for that last few weeks as my teammates suffered form slumps. One of my teammates won 2 singles and he and I won a doubles to give us 5 wins against the top team this week, but as its out of 11, we pulled up one short. We were so close to making it over the line as I had gone down in my 1st singles at 14-12 in the 5th set and my zero contributing teammate lose in the 5th set after leading 2-0 and 10-7 in the 3rd set. My other teammate also lost his 3rd single in the 5th set. Still not a bad effort against top.

Only 2 rounds of the season to go before the final which we definitely won't figure in now (blew that chance a couple of weeks ago by losing to 2nd spot badly). I doubt be will be relegated back to B grade on the overall performance of the season at least. Have some tough decisions to make about next season though. The new teammate we took on this season was only meant to be temporary. But our teammate who went OS doesn't return until week 3 of next season and if we cut or new teammate to bring him back we'll be dead in the water by then, considering the new teammate has 66% for the season with 2 rounds to go, I have 58% and my other teammate is on just 30%. And then there is the issue that the teammate that went OS has had no TT in over 3 months!! Should he come back expecting to rejoin the team when things have changed direction? Can't even contact him to ask if he minds being cut LOL.

Good win in A5 again last night 7-4 and I bagged all 3 of my singles. Puts us back into 3rd place on the ladder and pushes my win ratio to 63%. One round to go of the season. Don't think we can make the final, but definitely avoid relegation now.

Looking like one of my teammates is choosing to go back and play B1 next season. He's a good friend and it'll mean I'll just have to go into the club more on a Tuesday night now!! He's torn between staying in the tougher A5 environment which he enjoys and playing with his previous teammate who is returning, but will be barely B1 standard after 6 months off. Our other returning teammate who has been traveling Europe for 3 months will make up their third as he doesn't come back until round 3 and would take a while to cut it in A5. I think the fact that my current teammate has struggled to get 30% of wins this season has let his decision to return to B1 be the swaying factor. We tried to talk him into staying and looking to improve next season, but I he feels its not for the good of the team. So we probably have to find a new third.
