The forum did disappear for a while this morning and again this evening maybe for 15 mins each time. Did anyone else have any trouble. It just kept timing out when I tried to go to the site and after a while it gave me the standard connection error screen.

Yes I also had the same problem - If it persists please let me know and I will contact the Service Provider.

Haven't had it happening to me lately, but I remember that I had this problem a lot in the past. The thing is, when it happened, both thoe forum and the shop would be unavailable.

Is it possible to have a pop-up alert to let me know when I have a PM? I think the only visible sign at the moment is that the number goes up at the top which isn't instantly noticable.

Or is this something I can turn on in my settings?

What exactly is it that you were looking for.
I believe that you should be seeing a flashing My Messages tab at the top.
I can make it so it plays a sound like "youve got mail baby Yeah"

When I get a pm, I also receive an email via Thunderbird; so I sometimes get notified of the pm, before logging into the forum.

I agree Big Ears, DTTW counter would be horrifying to look at.

I believe you can also customize the looks of SMF forums such as these yourself?
