International flooring?

I believe some of you guys have played on it, right?

Having watched the wttc, I noticed that the ball hardly bounce on it at all, to me, this indicates that it is a very slow floor to play on, is this right?

I'm used to play on a rather fast floor and found that I had huge problems adjusting to slower floors, so I'm kind of pleased that I'm not playing at a level were I would have to adjust to it.

Down in Aussie land (Victoria)we have the Taraflex flooring in 2 stadiums (Geelong & Ballarat). Some players like it, other dont. Personally I think its Fantastic.

To be honest with you, I cant say that the flooring makes the play any slower or faster - I think that all depends on the playing surface of the table & the atmospheric pressure of the surrounding Air.

I love playing on it.  You dont have to worry about slipping  If you move your feet its great. If you tend to stand in the one spot then you probably wont like it.
It doesnt change the pace of the table.

I've played on the exact same table on different floors and I can tell for sure, it makes a huge difference. I thought this was bullsh*t when I first heard about it, but now I know it isn't so.

The grip part sounds nice though, would love to try out to play on it, but as stated, if it is as slow as it looks, then I wouldn't perform very well on it.

I'm not Speedplay, but I couldn't help myself in responding. There is a club in Maryland (BTY MD Training Center) that has it and it is good stuff.

The one I liked best was only a whisper slower but it had more grip. Probably liked it because it was such a wonderful venue, it has been named the best TT venue in Europe once upon a time.

Would love to provide some pictures for you Reb, but you should know by now, I'm not the guy who runs around with a camera ;) In fact, I don't even own one, except for the one in my mobile phone and I belive this one is broken somehow, don't know as I never use it.

Tried to find a google picture of it, but couldn't find any. It was once used as the practice venue for one of the Swedish elite clubs, but is now used by a coalition of smaller clubs.

Rob, have you played at Albury? Their flooring has a rubberised coating which is extremely grippy and rather hard on ankles!!  Also, I certainly found the tables play differently and took some adjusting too, especially with loops. The locals I spoke to agreed that the floor did effect the bouce of the ball...ever so slightly, but even 1/2 a mm difference is enough to muck up a brush loop 
I haven't played at Geelong yet... will be in a couple of weeks...

Albury is good to play at.  I like the floor, good size courts.

Yep Supachop, they are good size courts... and indeed the facilities in general are exellent for a country club.
I don't mind the floor, once I got used to it.... but I do prefer a surface with a little slip.
I have played at Ballarat.... but honestly don't remember what the floor surface was like!!

Never played at Albury, but will enter the Seniors Tournament this Year. Have to support Gary the president - He's not a bad bloke at all.

Yeah, I spoke to Gary at the MSAC tournament..he is a nice guy :)
He is keen on having a regional day with neighbouring clubs (Yarrawonga, Cobram, Shepparton etc) getting together for a bash.... I'm all for it

I've just played all w/end on Gerfloor, which is the same as taraflex, it does slow things down a little, this combined with international size courts gives a feeling of lack of power, but its the same for everyone. I love the stuff, primarily because you never slip and can feel confident when stretching for your shots.

To me, having a full sized court to play in is more important. I always end up playing where you do a step around and stepping on the guy's toes in the adjacant court.
