What is the fastest Blade Available Today.

As the Subject states, I'm looking for the fastest blade made. Of course I understand that we might have a few contenders. A picture of the Blade plus the Specs would also be good.

I'll start it off with a few from the brands I stock.

Yinhe T-4 rated as 10+ (5+4) about 6mm thick


Yinhe 992 Three Carbon rated at 10 (4+3) about 5.8mm thick


Andro Kinetic CF Carbon Off+ rated at 100 (7ply) about 6mm thick - No longer Manufactured


Donic Persson Power Carbon rated at 10+ (7+2) about 6mm thick


I have used the Perrson Power Carbon - (About 2 years) might have to revisit it.

Galaxy T-8, Rated at 10 and is according to several sources faster then the T-4


Which leads to the conclusions that Wavestone, rated at 97, is faster as well since it is faster then T-8.


How ever, I believe both of the above mentioned will lose against the Joola Bomb Extreme, as this is listed as faster then both MC1 and R*1, both at 10 while Bomb extreme is listed at 11. MC1 and R*1 are both faster then the Wavestone.

I've had a hit with pretty much all of those blades cept for the Joola Bomb Extreme.

I thought the KCA was ridiculous until I tried the Stiga Titanium WRB. That thing was just simply wrong - it gave me a few choices in play, fast or FASTER.

I know the Stiga Optimum+ felt like it also only had the speed range from fast to fastest, but the thing is, I can have the same speed with the Wavestone but I can also gear it down, this is why I love the Wavestone but never liked the Optimum+.

The T-1 is certainly faster than the T-4 for driving/smashing, but I am yet to find anything that loops as fast or with as high a throw as a T-4.

Are we all talking about close to the table fast - or away from the table Fast.
And lets face it what use is a blade that is fast for flat smashes, yet terrible for looping. On Monday night I got my Andro CF Kinetic Carbo Aramid blade out, and placed my 1.8mm Roxon 450's on it, and boy was it fast, again with no loss of control.

Maybe we should extend this to:

1. Fast for outright blocking and counter Flat Smashing (Mars 63 style)
2. Fast for Looping at the Table (pingpongrob style)
3. Fast for looping away from the Table (JKC Style)

I think a lot of the difference between these two are the weight of the bat. Lighter bats seems to be able to compete speed wise when used up close to the table, but as soon as you move away, the extra grams added seems to make all the difference. Look at a blade like the Donic Cayman, it's got reasonable speed up close to the table, but as soon as you step back, it feels slow and I blame this on the low weight, my Cayman is in the low 50s.

What is the fastest blade that provides the most control then?

Not sure if its the fastest blade, but it is very fast just the same. My Butterfly Gergely (pic below). Don't have a pic of my Joola R1 but I think it is a whisker faster than the Gergely, although could come down to rubbers. If the Joola Bomb Extrem is even faster again, it must be awesome.

Reb prolly has about 20 - 30 blades. Truth be told, find one and stick with it :)

Ah Wiz, you're no fun, hehe! Now truth be told I only have 4 or 5 blades I use and only 3 I use regularly. And even then I've really only been switching between 2 blades lately. Of course that doesn't mean the EJ urges don't keep stirring.
