Upgrade?
« on: August 15, 2008, 06:26:18 AM »
Hi all,
I have been using a Butterfly Yuki-FL bat for a while but I'm finding it doesn't have enough speed or spin for my liking.

I want to buy blade & rubber but am not sure what to get.

Can someone suggest something that will be a logical upgrade from the current bat, either complete bat or blade+rubber, but as I don't play in a club, just for fun at work actually, I imagine the top end stuff would be a waste of money.

Thanks for any advice.

Ben

Hey benst,

Welcome to the forums.

Hey i also started playing TT cos of a table at work as well lol... now look at me.

You don't need to spend a massive amount of $$$ to have the best blade cos quite often the more expensive stuff can be harder to use and control. In your case, I'd stay away from using a composite blade (Carbon, Arylate Carbon etc etc).

My recommendation for you would be: -

Blade: Dawei Navigator WRC (http://www.affordablett.com.au/shop/pro ... cts_id=555)
Rubbers: Dawei Inspirit Quattro 35 Deg 2mm for both FH and BH (http://www.affordablett.com.au/shop/pro ... cts_id=558)

Total Cost: -  $62.85

Thats pretty cheap for a blade that will produce great speed and spin. You could also end up using that for a very long time :)

BTY Maze | FH - |FH - Haifu Blue Whale II MAX BH - Xiom Zeta (Asian) 2mm

Arriving shortly - BTY Timo Boll ZLC.
