I dont think they're similar at all. those 729 leopards suppose to have german esn sponges while the renanos is a typical japanese rubber. I have read 3 reviews and it's very good for hardhitting and blocking and quite spinny too

There's a guy at the club that is looking at this rubber to replace his Xiom Omega II Asain.  Can anyone describe this rubber Soft, Hard, or otherwise.  Silver did you not chip this rubber away cause you hated it and pulled it off the racket after 3 shots?  This guy likes the speed glue effect of the Xioms but doesn't like the durability.  Is the Renanos glue effect pretty good?  Is it's durability pretty solid?

I used it for about 3 weeks.
it's got great glue feel, but i pulled it off because it didn't spin very well.

Skippy, almost half the players I see here in Korea use Omega II. They don't seem overpowering spinny, minus a few advanced players. I used to be a Nittaku pimp, but no more. Won't be either, until price per sheet gets into the $20-$25 range.

How different is it to Omega II?

I can see why a bunch of Koreans love the rubber that their best player uses.  In fact RSM is kinda Xiom's Tiger Woods (funny analogy now)  Donic is pretty popular in Sweden I would guess.

very very different to all tensors. the hard version was much softer than the o2a sponge. I had to check it again-thought they sent me the soft version instead.

Yeah, I can see why you didn't play that rubber long if it is softer than o2a, and didn't apply the type of spin you wanted.  I always thought Nittaku rubbers had pretty decent spin.  That really suprises me.  The Japanese brands just can't quite figure out tensors.  I don't really think the Tenergy's feel like tensors, they feel like something completely different.  Catapult, and Cermet don't really feel like tensors to me either.  Wierd

I had one ten minute hit with some Korean's bat with Omega II on an OFF blade (don't remember the make). I couldn't get the same spin I get with Outlaw, nowhere close. Speed seemed kinda there. Omega II is definately not for me. I would think Oh Sang Uhn is Korea's best player, but RSM and Joo S.H. are certainly more charismatic.

uh, i meant o2e sorry.

Tenergy, Catapult, Cermet etc don't feel like tensors because they aren't tensors. The Japanese brands can't quite figure out tensors because they aren't tensors. Tensor is an ESN creation and trademark. What you're saying is like saying that Toyota or Nissan don't drive the same as a Volkswagon, yet implying that they should be because they are all cars.

Symantics, ok they don't get High Tension rubbers right, cause they don't really feel tensioned at all.  At least they don't feel tensioned anything in comparison to the "Tensors".  Having said that they are doing something right too cause I play T05 on the forehand side, and it's just perfect for that side for me.  The speed/spin/ and the throw just seem to work.

I don't really understand their High Tension either. as far as I could tell, it was a thicker and harder topsheet that was great when the rubber was glued up and stretched as far as possible.

anyway back to renanos, I really liked the glue feel, but it just seemed to lack spin.

When I say 'lacked spin', i could have been expecting too much. I'm used to super high spin rubbers. I don't really think that Renanos had any less spin than, say, Sriver. Definitely not up with the Tensors though.

Silver, have you used Roxon 450? If so, what other tensors would you say spin as well...or better if thats possible?

I put the Proton XP on my Gergely and I am disappointed in its spin. Power is huge! But not so much more than Roxon that you go wow, especially as my Proton is 2.2 and my Roxon was 2.0! Just ordered more Roxon!

What a silly question.  :afro:
Of course i've used roxon450!
haha

For 45 degree stuff, I reckon it's something along the lines of Omega 3 Euro (gotta keep this clean though!), Roxon 450, Omega 1 Asian, Tango Extrem, Desto F1, Energy Green Power, etc etc etc.

If you want more spin on your gergely, you may be better off switching to something slightly softer. a 42.5 or a 40 degree rubber.

I didnt think Roxon 450 was 45 degrees. Feels mid 30's at most. And yeah I know it was a silly question, but I had to frame it somehow lol. OK another silly question, have you used Proton XP?  :lipsrsealed:

If I used Roxon 330, I don't think I'd get the speed I want. I thought spin of R450 was superior to Omega. And of course Roxon 450 would be along the lines of Roxon 450   !

Perhaps I should try my T05 on the Gergely! Speed is still lacking though I think.

Haha, actually, I haven't tried any of the Gewo rubbers. Surprise! I sort of just stopped after settling on JP Gold as my standard BH rubber.

I personally think O3E is spinnier, but it's also harder to keep cleaner than Roxon.
