Well what can I say, - the Champion Kynee blade nearly made me change. O What a Feeling (Toyota Add).

At first bouncing the ball on the Blade (both the Champion Kynee and Champiom Maxx) they felt extremely fast, I would say much faster than a Butterfly Primorac Carbon. The quality of the blades was very good, infact much better than any Yinhe blade I have purchased so far. (and Yinhe blades make very good quality blades). The Handle is Straight and quite square, but at least their room to modify if need be. (Straight has never been my forte in Handles).

To be Fair, I took the rubbers of my Andro CF Carbo/Aramid - just to make an accurate judgement between both blades. Black Xiom Omega 1 2.0mm on the forehand and Red Andro Impuls speed 2.0mm.

After applying the rubbers onto the blade, the first thing I noticed was the Dwell time on this Blade, it felt like forever, lots of feeling, I cant even explain how much, even the short backspin balls that I just push over the net stayed low with ease. I ussually have problems keeping these balls short with my current set up.

When playing the long game, this blade is as fast as I have stated Faster than my current blade, great for topspinning & Smashing - I just cant believe, what I felt, and knowing that its half the price of my original blade makes me wonder even more. If I could just get around the Straight handle, I might have finally found a replacement.

The Construction of this blade is strange, and I might need the help of Silvalis to determine the centre composition of this blade. I will post a clear photo tonight.

Wow Rob, that's quite a talk up. I'll be interested to see a close up pic. I assume if it had a flared handle you'd be on a winner?

Went to the shop and had a look. Nice looking blade, but it is a very straight handle isn't it. Pity you don't see the blue of the blade once it has rubbers on it. Perhaps someone should come up with tinted rubbers LOL, so you can see through them.

Blocking and flat hitting was better than my blade, although my current blade blocks well, its not that good for flat hitting (with Tensor Rubbers).

the weights are around 89 grams, which is typical of most Aramid Carbon Blades.

How does it compare to the Stradivarius Rob, notwithstanding the ST handle? Does it have much the same feel and properties?

Rob

Going on your description of how the blade played, is it possibly a Balsa core?

The Centre Core looks like a softish material, not sure if its Balsa Though.

If it were Balsa I would think it would be about 10 gm's lighter at the least.

So true. thats why I said it was a softer timber. Also doesn't make that clunking sound that balsa makes.

My LKT Lord of Speed blade makes a sort of a "tock" sound each time I hit with it. Would this be balsa in it? Or wood (notice the intended pun   ) it be something else?

Have Champion not released any details and specifications of the blade?

It would be interesting to see what they are.

I just think it would be interesting to know what the top layer is.  Surely they wouldn't color Hinoki, or Koto blue would they?  It's probably some sort of Limba or Ayous.  Whatcha think Rob?  Anybody heard from Alfie these days?

Alfie told me he was going away somewhere (might have been his sisters) this was a few days before Christmas. I PM'd him not long afterwards on DTTW and asked him to reply but haven't heard anything yet.
