Changing bats
« on: November 25, 2011, 09:48:54 PM »
Hi,
I'm new to the forum and am in need of some bat advice.

I currently use a butterfly primorac blade, with Sriver Fx for my forehand and Flextra for my backhand. I am wanting to upgrade my bat as i have gotten better over time.

I am currently looking at purchasing a primorac carbon blade, with Sriver G3 fx for my forehand and Tenergy 05 Fx for my backhand. Are these a good combination? Is this too much of a difference when compared to my current bat as i may not be able to adapt? Are there any other suggestions?

Keep the same blade, upgrade your rubbers.

Yep I agree. If after that change you get to a point of real comfort and desire for further speed, then think about a new blade. Primorac carbon will be too much for now with those rubbers after what you have had.

Welcome to the forum too btw.

Thanks for that, sounds like I will be changing the rubbers.

Should i use butterfly (free chack) glue? or are there any other recommendations, that may be cheaper?

Depends on where you are really. If you're in Aus, then any of the water glues in the shop here should be fine. If you're in the US, you can buy stuff called Tear Mender that works pretty well I hear. You can also buy that on ebay too I guess from just about anywhere in the world.
