2011 Daegu US Forces Korea Peninsula-Wide TT Championsips
« on: November 20, 2011, 04:50:24 PM »
My fellow Korea Foreign TT member (who I get to boss in the same office) and I participated in the 2011 Daegu US Forces Korea TT Championships. My partner got 3rd in singles and 1st in doubles. I got 1st in Singles, Open, and Doubles.

Here are a few pics. For anyone not knowing me, I am the one with the crew cut, NOT the one without hair, although I have less and less of it each year. I used a new sheet of T05 on a TBS for FH. Partner used a Schlager Carbon with T05, for all U EJs out there.

They didn't hold back on the size of the trophies!, the guy presenting them goes with the oversized theme lol holy crap he must seem a giant in Korea. Must be the only US tournament that's ever had an umpire too, you should take that technology with you next time you go home .

Dude wasn't really an umpire or a good scorekeeper. It is standard that a bystander keeps score in all amature TT games in Korea. I have been to a few tourneys where the Tourney Director mandated a scorekeeper for all matches, but that is very far and few in between. The guy handing out the hardware is a really thin dude, but pretty tall. That was the third year in a row I made that handshake with that same tall dude to receive the trophy for the Singles Championship. Yeah the trophies are large, but I have no place for them in my high-rise apartment. I will give a text to my Company Commander soon asking him to clear off the entire top shelf of the company trophy case as I have 3 years of these trophies to give him.
